I did the whole disassembly and reassembly myself. It's not hard but it's good to know what you're doing. The pictures are of my "Zaku" PSP. Enjoy.

Anyone looking for parts. Check out deal exteme.

Wall Street Tour!

Wang Post in Work

On Friday I had a walking tour of  Wall street; this was part of my internship program this summer. Last year I also toured Wall street with my other internship, but I was pleased to learn and experience different things this year.

We toured through the Wall street district, went to the museum of finance, and toured the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve was my favorite part; the whole place is basically a museum of money from around the world. Perhaps the most interesting part was being able to go down into the vault where they keep the gold. The door to the vault was a marvel of engineering. It was a 16 ton revolving cynlider that when in place was water and water tight.

I one day hope to go back there and check out some of the pubs on Stone street. They all look very inviting.

It was a fun day.

iPhone 4, and more

Well here it is, in my hand and what can I say? Very beautiful, very fast, and overall very pleasing.

The design overhaul really plays. This thing is svelte, and it feels solid. I immediately noticed the improved display. I spend so much time on this thing that it is very much appreciated. The sharpness is really stunning.

Functionally I have noticed a small performance boost that coupled with the new OS performs very competently.

I have noticed the signals issues and I certainly hope that the upcoming patch fixes it. I’m not sure if it’s just because this thing has been in my hand so much but I have not noticed the improved battery yet. I have been getting around 6 hours of usage. That usage has mostly been of gaming and web browsing on wifi so that may explain it.

I have yet to use FaceTime or the video functions. Judging from the photos I have been snapping I will not be disappointed.

The addition of a gyroscope is interesting and I have only used it to play a game so far but it works rather well. I am curious to see how it will be further implemented by developers.

Btw on Jobs response to the reception issue, what a cock.

iOS 4

My experience with iOS so far has been quite satisfactory. The only hiccup was that it down sampled all the photos I had stored in the phone(backed up anyway).

Of the new features I must say that the app trays are great. I was able to go from five screens to three. Great for streamlining access to the apps I use most.

The new multitasking has yet to make a notable impact on my day to day use. However I feel as time goes on it will come to be something I can never go back from. I wonder about the process stack though and how much house keeping will be required on my part. I feel that I can trust in the apple engineers but this is a case where I know too much for my own good.

One of the reasons for this post is to test the new spell checking feature. It performs admirably in conjunction with the iPhone fantastic auto complete feature.

I should have my new iPhone in hand on Thursday so I look forward to the new hardware and what enhancements that might bring.
