That the coolant system in a car relies on one tiny very important part, the thermostat. Now let me explain, the thermostat is the piece that regulates the amount of coolant flowing to the engine. Engines are precision machines that get very hot and they require a specific temperature range to to operate nominally.
Now why am I so concerned about them? Well because mine froze shut this morning, and after a short drive I realized my car was very close to overheating in nine degree temperature. With the thermostat frozen there was NO coolant going to my engine and since air is very poor conductor of heat there was little mitigation. Luckily a realized something was wrong and was able to get home. I had a friend some over and take a look and he recognized what happened immediately, gave me a temporary fix and sent me on my way with the solution.
Shortly afterward I found myself in auto zone getting the required parts to repair my car. After Which I was outside in my driveway in the freezing cold at night trying to replace my broken thermostat. After a bout an hour of trying with the wrong tools I was left frustrated at one final bolt I couldn’t possibly reach. The majority of my tool already back at school I might as well as had a child’s play set. Just when I had all but given up fortune smiled on a frustrated me and along came a neighbor of mine. Now this neighbor is a quiet man, that is always working on his cars. He kindly lent me the wrench I needed to finish the job after which I was able to complete it in several minutes. He has a pretty sweet 66 vette btw.
So after spending the majority of the day dicking around with my car where do I stand? I completed nothing of my plans of moving the remaining of my belongings back to school. I did not get to work on the house or discuss fraternity matters. And I may have a cold.
SO what did I really learn today?
Replace my thermostat in the fall, to avoid this ever again.
In other news first day of classes is the 20th. yay~

Zachary does not advocate putting different species together in boxes and screaming “DO IT!” at them.
In some countries they use Henry Rollins to scare children into being well behaved.

Oh Jesus WTF I restarted after installing cisco vpn and now everytime windows tries to start it bsds. The recovery console is pretty nicely laid out except for the fact that it can’t goddamn fix the problem. Now I’m checking system restore hoping that I’ll be able to boot. I really hope I don’t have to reformat or get new hdd.
Damnit
UPDATE: I was able to restore last night and get things working. Oddly enough it rebooted after I restored to a point before a Microsft critical update. -_-;;

My fitness routine is pretty much based off the Body for Life regimen. Three days weights, three days cardio, and one day off. Two of my weight days are upper body and the other is lower. My cardio plan is based off the couch to 5k plan at the moment until I can run three miles without interruption.
I’m getting used to the routine, and I juust figured out the proper way to lift in ladders while incresing sets of weight. The running is actually really pleasant the weeks always start off rough but at the end I feel myself flying along.
It’s been like two weeks and things are going smoothly. I just hope I can keep it up when school starts. I’e already started to lose some weight so that’s pretty pleasing.

So after the whole beta release fiasco I have finally been able to get my hands on a copy. My initial impression is very positive. The UI is very lush and intuitive which is a big step up from XP(I will not acknowledge Vista)*. I installed 7 on my five year old Dell Inspiron and everything runs adequately. I have all the pretty effects and no hiccups from running any of my usual programs. There have been upgrades to the usual amenities such as calculator and paint as well as a few new addition. Two of which are the snip and note functions which work as a screen capture and post-it respectively.
I love the new taskbar and it’s new functionalities. A personal favorite is the thumbnail previews of minimized or blocked windows. Looks like rocket dock it going to have to take a hike. There are also what’s called libraries now which organize content of the similar nature together which I anticipate will be very useful. The start menu has had a face lift and the desktop widgets seem to be useful though I have yet to properly explore them.
As keep installing all my necessary programs and playing around with everything I can’t help be feel a sense of gratification. It’s been along time coming and it looks like Microsoft is finally taking a step in the right direction.
I’ll have more updates as my 7 experience continues. Until then I urge you to check it out yourself. I used life hacker primarily as a guide for getting started and I suggest you do the same if you’re looking for somewhere to start.

2am and I have the blog setup quite closely to the final product. As time goes on I’ll probably need to make changes, but I’ll deal with those changes as they arise.
So this is the first post of any substance, but truth be told I’m too tired to type anything else.
